Pope Francis Condemns Fake News

Is This a Message to President Trump?

Pope Francis released a statement regarding "fake news" on World Communications Day stating that it's a "sign of intolerant and hypersensitive attitudes, and leads only to the spread of arrogance and hatred."

Some speculated that the Pope's message was directed at Donald Trump.  Trump may have perfected the use of "fake news" or "totally fake news", but many world leaders have followed suit in their use of the term.

Although Trump opposes fake news he is responsible for creating it according to an article with The Newstatesman.  Trump tweeted, "Democrats are pushing for Universal Healthcare while thousands of people are marching in the UK because their U [Universal] system is going broke and not working."
Trump was way of the mark.   The march in London Trump was referring to was actuality the reverse.  The march was to maintain the British model of socialized medicine.

Maybe the Pope has a point. [1 image, 1 link, 2 quotations, 157 words]
