"Fake News" Knows No Boundaries

Seth Rich, a former Democratic National Committee staffer, was found fatally shot in the Bloomingdale neighborhood of Washington, D.C.  on July 10, 2016.  While Rich's family was mourning his death Fox News was reporting that his death was far from a random robbery.

Sean Hannity in particular reported that Rich was targeted and killed by the Clintons in order to cover up evidence.  He reported that it was Rich who was behind the D.N.C. e-mail hack and not the Russians.  Hannity reported to being into contact with WikiLeaks just before his murder.

Fox News eventually retracted the story and released a statement saying that the Seth Rich story "was not initially subjected to the high degree of editorial scrutiny we require for all our reporting," and removed the story. [2 images, 1 link, 1 quotation, 135 words]
