Was Pluto Reclassified as a Planet?

Ever since Pluto was ripped of its title as a planet in 2006, people have been upset. There have been petitions dedicated to getting the status back. In April of 2017, an article on Futurism.com said that the International Astronomical Union (IAU) issued a press release stating that "Pluto had been reclassified as a planet." Unfortunately in all the excitement, people failed to miss the date the article had been published, April fools day. This was a joke statement that definitely disappointed a lot of people.
