Facebook is teaming up with people like PolitiFact to put an end to the fake news on their platform. With the help of Facebook users flagging fake news stories, they hope to eliminate those stories altogether from Facebook feeds everywhere.
One story on PolitiFact states, "Facebook is making it easier to report a hoax while also making it easier for independent fact-checkers such as PolitiFact to dispute the story." With Facebook being such a massively used platform, it is reassuring to know that they are currently working to eliminate fake news from reaching our feed. Only time will tell if this effort will be worthwhile or if it'll just be another way of easing the minds of the public while not really making any kind of change.
