An outdated and false statement has been recirculating on Facebook after far-right accounts claimed a Tennessee school district has banned American Flags from its campus. The accusation states that "
this Tennessee School District had “recently” banned the American flag from campus", when in actuality, this story first arose in 2015. School Director Dr. Danny Weeks has come out with a statement saying "flags are not banned" He then elaborates and explains that students are not allowed to fly them from their cars or wear them as drapes or capes. I can see how this could be misinterpreted but none the least not acceptable to make false statements.
