“This was the year of fake news duping people,” writes Gavin
Hayes. Gavin Hayes writes for TheGuardian.com, and in December of 2016 he
published an interactive quiz for his readers, “Can you spot the ‘real’ fake news story?” I played the game and received a one out of eight score. Needless
to say, I’m not very good at spotting fake news or I’m entrusting Hayes to
represent the “true” story. What I found most entertaining about the article
was the comment that is posted in conjunction with my score, “You can’t spot an
obviously fake story. Why not go and share it on Facebook anyhow?” [1 image, 1
