There was a Valentine's Day dance on February 14 in Kanesville Elementary School in which each student filled out a card with the name of the person he or she wanted to dance with. However, the spokesperson the the elementary school said, "Please be respectful, be polite. We want to promote kindness, and so we want you to say yes when someone asks you to the dance." This enforced the idea the when a boy asks a girl to a dance, the girl is not allowed to say no. Eventually the school no longer required students to take dance requests.
