On February 8th, 2018 reports began floating around that Spirit Airlines told one of their customers to flush her emotional support hamster down the airplane toilet. Fortunately "Spirit has firmly denied that their employee told Belen Aldecosea to flush or release her pet." Adlecosea called the airlines before her flight to make sure her emotional support hamster would be allowed on the flight, which Spirit Airlines claimed was allowed. Adlecosea says she has a note from her doctor certifying Pebbles as an emotional support animal, and that she obtained the hamster to help her cope with a growth on her neck.[101 words, 1 image, 1quote, 1 link]
