After
being retweeted over 38 thousand times, The AP (Associated Press) is yet to
retract a tweet
labeling the suspect of Florida school shooting as a white nationalists group
member. In a hurry to cover this story, this news column accepted information
submitted to them by someone pretending to be the leader of a white nationalist
group and published it with no further research. The laziness on behalf of the AP
caused massive backlash as the twitter community demands their insensitive
mistake be taken down immediately. While the suspect is in no way being defended,
it is vital that the information being spread over such a tragic event be
strictly proven facts.
