Space changed astronaut’s DNA

After a story on the Today show’s website was published on March 15th, one of NASA’s astronauts DNA was under speculation for fake news. The story, along with several others, claimed that after a year in space, an astronaut’s DNA had changed by 7 percent. The website had cited a NASA study that analyzed the effects of space travel on the human body by comparing subjects Scott and Mark Kelly, identical twins. “In 2015, Scott flew to the International Space Station and lived there for 340 days--a record for an American astronaut--while Mark stayed on Earth.” Although the study revealed some fascinating changes in Scott, the acquisitions made by the Today show’s website are alarmingly inaccurate.
