Rumors that service station customers are getting sick by HIV-loaded syringes affixed to gas pump handles are a hoax. The first notice of precaution came to the Internet in early June of 2000. This post played upon the fear of a deadly disease coming from an ordinary activity. Although there have been reports of pranks about leaving needles in public places "the incident of May 2017". This was proved to be a hoax stating that none of the attacks had involved needles bearing any trace of HIV.  Abraham sands stated that someone invented the name to make a "warning" look authoritive.
