Due to an article published by 'La Voz Popular', many people were told the both disgusting and frightening idea of Tokyo opening a restaurant where human meat is served. The entire article was said to be "a 2016 April Fool's joke" but many people didn't realize that it was all a hoax. Therefore, after the release of the article, in November 2017, a news site by the name of 'Verne' explained the situation for those who didn't understand. The entire spoof was cleared up as the writers interviewed the representative of the Embassy of Japan who "denied that Japanese legislation allows cannibalism".
