Does entering your pin at a ATM backwards summon the police?

A hack has been going around since 2006 that if you type in you pin at a ATM backwards the police will come. This trick is supposed to help you if you are being robbed and this way it wont notify the robber that the police are coming. This hack is only used at some ATMs because the "final version of the bill watered down the wording so as to make banks’ implementation of the system optional rather than mandatory". Most banks also do not want to invest in such technology because "aw enforcement would likely arrive long after victim and captor had departed".
