Was the flu shot the one reason why were getting the flu?

On February 8th, a publisher reported on this years wild flu epidemic and the strange way we might be getting it. The author stated that ABC had reported that "this years flu epidemic" was caused by the "influenza vaccines". This was immediately seen as false information as because she did not even cite the article posted by ABC and there has been no report regarding anything of the vaccine leading to actual sickness. Even with doctors still advising for patients to take the vaccine to reduce contraction of the virus, during this widespread severe flu outbreak.
