Did the Flu shot cause this year's Flu Epidemic? 

This year the Flu shot has seemed to be highly ineffective, but is it the source of this year's widespread Flu outbreak? An article was published by Erin Elizabeth, on February 8, 2018, on the website "Health News Nut" claiming that, "a public health official had stated her belief that this year’s flu epidemic was the result of a virus mutated by the production of influenza vaccines." According to Snopes.com, the production of the flu shot did not cause the influenza virus to mutate. The main evidence behind Elizabeth's article is a statement from a nurse in Wisconsin, published in the Burnett County Sentinel, which states that, "I believe that the low effective rate of the vaccine this year is to due to the mutations that the virus made in the processing of the vaccine itself." What the nurse said is true, but what Elizabeth claimed because of it is not. The virus can mutate, but they are not the cause of the Flu, "what this does not mean, however is that a mutated superbug was created by humans as suggested by Elizabeth."
