NASA Clarifies that Research Participants Will Not be Paid to Smoke Marijuana

In an article published by the Associated Press on  an ABC online news forum, in February 2018, NASA has clarified that its research study will pay participants to be sedentary but not to smoke marijuana. An online blog had initially reported that "NASA will pay you $18,000 to stay in bed and smoke weed for 70 straight days,". The blog was published in 2017. A NASA spokesman has stated that this rumor is "completely untrue". NASA is running a study to explore the effects of weightlessness, which does not include smoking, but will pay participants to stay in bed for 70 straight days.[1 Picture, 2 Links, 2 quotes, 103 words]
