Partisan Consumers
Outrage over the proliferation of
fake news is often directed to the supply side of the phenomenon. The creators and
distributions of misinformation bear the label of social misfits and
propagandists. This presents a situation where there is no an objective
analysis of the problem, especially from
the demand side. Fake news thrives in situations where partisan consumers crave
for partisan information. This is the current case in most of the political
scenarios in America and other parts of the world.
